Tai Chi Meditation

Chinese monk Chen Wangting, also known as Zhang Sanfeng is the creator of the well known Tai Chi meditation. Tai chi is an internal Chinese martial art practiced for self-defense and health. Known for its slow, intentional movements, Tai chi has practitioners worldwide and is particularly popular as a form of gentle exercise and moving meditation, with benefits to mental and physical health. Tai chi is best described as "meditation in motion". There is growing evidence that this mind-body practice, has value in treating or preventing many health problems. As you move, you breathe deeply and naturally, focusing your attention as if in some kind of meditation on your bodily sensations. Tai chi differs from other types of exercise in several respects. Body movements are usually circular and never forced, the muscles are relaxed rather than tensed, the joints are not fully extended or bent, and connective tissues are not stretched. Tai chi can be easily adapted for anyone irrespective of their age.
