Vinyasa Yoga
Picture
Vinyasa yoga originates from the Sanskrit words Vyn meaning 'in a special or sacred way' and Nyasa meaning, 'to place'. A vinyasa is a smooth transition between asanas in flowing styles of modern yoga as exercise such as Vinyasa Krama Yoga and Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, especially when movement is paired with the breath. Vinyasa is a term used to describe continuous or dynamic movements between yoga poses. This flow of movement is excellent for getting your heart rate going and working up a sweat. Vinyasa can also help increase flexibility, strength, stability, calmness, and focus. Sri Krishnamacharya taught yoga in line with the principals of vinyasa krama. Vinyasa yoga is characterized by practicing a sequence of yoga poses, one after another in a sequence, seamlessly, with emphasis on breath, aiming at the desired goals. Vinyasa yoga does not follow a set pattern or sequence for practice, and the variety makes the technique much sought after. You can expect movement between the poses apart from stretches, all flowing one after another like music. Vinyasa Yoga Practice helps boost stamina, improve cardio health, improve breath co-ordination, tone the body, and release stress.
