Vipassana Meditation

Vipassana originated 25 centuries back in India but lost its essence over time. The meditative practice was reintroduced in Burma in the 18th century and spread across the world in the 19th and 20th centuries, by a continuous chain of dedicated teachers and monks. Vipassana or Insight Meditation, is one of the oldest and most prominent meditative techniques that we know today. The ancient practice has its roots spreading deep across many different Religion Practices and traditions. Vipassana, simply put, means insight or to see clearly. Vipassana is a self observation-based technique that establishes (and uses) a deep mind-body connection. The Vipassana meditation teachings say that it is the mind's nature to wander, and just observing the thoughts (without reacting) can help find true purpose. Insight meditation consists of observing the body (rupa) and the mind (nama) effortlessly. Thousand of seekers across the world effectively practice Vipassana at retreats and centers to find meaning and inner peace.
